Maureen has studied and practiced yoga for over twenty years in Columbus with Kathleen Lewis and in Santa Fe, New Mexico where she practiced with Thia Luby who authored a book on yoga for children. In addition, she attended a weekend workshop with Rodney Yee at the Elizabeth Blackwell Center in September 1996. She studied with Janice George at the Center for Wholeness in Columbus, completing a 200 hour level, ten month Integrative Yoga Therapy Teacher Training Program in July of 2003. As part of the program, Maureen completed an internship where she worked with middle school children.
Her classes will introduce you to basic poses, focusing on
balancing poses and introducing the Sun and Moon
salutations. Yoga will improve your posture and provides a variety of
other benefits, linking body and mind. Wear loose clothing. We will
practice barefoot and you are asked to bring a yoga sticky mat or a
towel for the standing and floor asanas. Pregnant women are advised
to check with their doctor before attending any classes.
